Israel conducted 13 airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs on Tuesday, targeting strategic locations and intensifying the ongoing conflict. According to the National News Agency (NNA), Israeli fighter jets launched powerful strikes along the Hadi Nasrallah Highway, marking the thirteenth airstrike on this area.
Another intense airstrike reportedly struck the Lailaki region near the Lebanese University, with multiple missiles hitting the area.
The airstrikes began after Israeli forces issued warnings for residents to evacuate several buildings in the southern suburbs of Beirut. The Israeli military claimed that these operations targeted Hezbollah facilities and interests in the densely populated neighborhoods.
Lebanese authorities reported that at least 29 people have been killed due to these strikes across different areas. In southern Lebanon, 12 people lost their lives in a separate airstrike on the village of Joun. The NNA stated that this attack struck a residential building sheltering displaced individuals.
Israel’s escalated actions follow increased tensions and exchanges of fire between Hezbollah and Israeli forces along the border, with concerns rising about further destabilization in Lebanon amid the ongoing regional conflict.
