Lebanese Security Arrests Israeli Spy
The Lebanese General Directorate of State Security announced the arrest of an Israeli agent in Lebanon, confirming his confession to the acts he committed and the seizure of devices and tools proving his involvement.
In a statement released on Thursday, it was clarified that “after a meticulous surveillance operation, the Nabatieh Regional Directorate of State Security – Bint Jbeil Office managed to apprehend the individual known as (C. S.) upon his return from the occupied territories, which he had entered clandestinely.”
The accused confessed during the investigation to possessing an advanced device provided by the Israelis, used for monitoring and photographing some vital centers in Lebanon, and enabling direct communication between him and the enemy. He also admitted that the Israelis had equipped him with a jacket secretly containing a significant amount of money to support his espionage tasks.
The statement further noted that “the accused (C. S.) confessed to dealing with the Israeli enemy since the beginning of the Gaza war, in addition to performing the tasks assigned to him by them.”
Following a review by the government’s commissioner to the Military Court, all the seized items
were documented, including those found in his home after a search, and the detainee was handed
over to the Directorate of Intelligence in the Lebanese Army for further investigation and
necessary legal actions.
Previously, the Lebanese Army had announced in its statement the completion of its deployment
in several areas of Kfarshouba – Hasbaya village in the Eastern Sector, urging citizens to avoid
areas from which the enemy has withdrawn until engineering surveys and landmine clearance
are completed.
