Hind Rajab Foundation Preempts Israeli Foreign Minister’s Visit to Brussels
On Sunday, the Hind Rajab Foundation preempted Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar’s visit to Brussels, scheduled for February 18, 2025, by filing a complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC). The foundation is demanding an arrest warrant against Sa’ar for alleged war crimes committed in Gaza. The organization underscored Belgium’s obligation to cooperate with the ICC under the Rome Statute.
Sa’ar is neither the first nor the last in the Hind Rajab Foundation’s ongoing pursuit of Israeli soldiers and officials accused of war crimes in the Gaza Strip. The foundation has leveraged evidence such as videos and photos posted by soldiers themselves documenting their alleged crimes. It has also lodged complaints against Israeli officials in multiple countries, including Ecuador, Brazil, and France, leading to investigations in some cases.
Among the notable outcomes, Swiss authorities opened an investigation in February 2025 against an Israeli reserve soldier suspected of war crimes. Similarly, in January 2025, a Brazilian court took action against an Israeli soldier vacationing in Brazil.
The Hind Rajab Foundation continues its mission to hold accountable those responsible for violations in Gaza, amplifying its efforts through international legal channels.
