Iraqi Authorities Threaten to Deport Residents Inciting Sectarianism
The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday that it has recorded instances of incitement to violence and sectarianism by some residents. The ministry emphasized that anyone who violates the values of Iraqi society will face immediate deportation.
Spokesman for the ministry, Brigadier General Miqdad Miri, stated in a press release, “Iraq embraces newcomers and residents with respect and appreciation, but it will not tolerate any actions that fuel discord or threaten social peace.”
Security Forces Detect Sectarian ActivitiesMiri further revealed that Iraq’s security and intelligence agencies have identified illegal activities with sectarian dimensions. He clarified that “the law will be applied firmly to anyone who crosses the line.”
The ministry’s proactive stance aims to prevent any attempts to destabilize the country’s social fabric, ensuring that residents adhere to Iraqi laws and regulations.

The Ministry of Interior warned of severe consequences for those who violate Iraqi laws, stating that
“any attempt to incite chaos will be met with a strong response in accordance with the law.”

Recently, Iraqi authorities arrested several residents accused of inciting violence and sectarianism.
Additionally, the ministry is currently pursuing a group allegedly involved in assaulting Syrian workers
in Iraq.
The ministry concluded its statement by reaffirming Iraq’s commitment to safeguarding its social fabric
and preventing any entity from “planting the seeds of strife” within its borders.
