Sayyed Razi Mousavi, a senior adviser in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp (IRGC), has been killed on the outskirts of Damascus, Syria, by an Israeli air strike, according to Tasnim News Agency.
Reuters news agency, quoting three security sources, also confirmed his death adding the adviser had been responsible for coordinating the military alliance between Syria and Iran.
Mousavi had close ties to former top Revolutionary Guard General Qassem Soleimani, who was assassinated in a US drone strike in Baghdad, Iraq, in 2020.
Soleimani was commander of the Quds Force of the IRGC and a main architect of Iran’s regional influence
