The Iranian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson called for international condemnation of the Israeli regime’s airstrike on people working with the NGO World Central Kitchen (WCK) in the Gaza Strip.
In a post on his X account, Nasser Kanaani said the “terrorist Zionist army’s targeted attack” on the convoy of the World Central Kitchen workers in the Gaza Strip deserves international condemnation.
Offering his condolences to the families of the seven victims of the attack, Kanaani said the crime indicates that the Zionist regime is insisting on its plans for starving out Gazans, creating famine, the organized and targeted massacre of innocent civilians, and deliberate strikes on the international rescue teams, humanitarian institutions and non-governmental organizations.
Such an anti-human approach reveals that the Zionist regime is not committed to any international rules and regulations or worldwide moral principles, he added.
The US-based NGO World Central Kitchen said seven members of the organization had been killed while traveling in a convoy in Deir el-Balah after unloading 100 tons of food aid at its central Gaza warehouse.
The NGO, which provides fresh meals in response to conflict and natural disasters, has been supplying food assistance in Gaza, which the UN has warned is on the brink of famine.
The WCK said the group was traveling in a “deconflicted zone” in two armored vehicles that were branded with the WCK logo and that it had coordinated their movements with the Israeli military.
WCK said its workers came from Australia, Poland, the UK and Palestine. One had dual Canada-US citizenship.
