Erdogan Emphasizes Stability in Syria at D-8 Summit
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed on Thursday his commitment to achieving stability in Syria and aiding the Syrian people during his address at the 11th Summit of the Developing Eight Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8) in Cairo.
In his speech, Erdogan highlighted the numerous conflicts the world is witnessing, particularly in the Middle East. He stated, “We are monitoring developments in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria, and we strive to achieve stability in Syria and assist the Syrian people.”
Erdogan underscored the necessity of supporting youth and small-scale projects to drive economic growth. He stressed the importance of “supporting the youth who represent the vast majority in our societies.”
Moreover, he urged a focus on leveraging artificial intelligence and modern technology across various sectors to foster development.
The summit, hosted by Egypt under the theme “Investing in Youth and Supporting Small and Medium Enterprises towards Shaping the Future Economy,” includes leaders from D-8 member countries, along with representatives from other developing nations, regional, and international organizations.
This gathering not only aims to address immediate regional conflicts but also to lay the groundwork for economic and technological advancement, with a special emphasis on empowering the younger generations and small businesses as key drivers of future prosperity.
