Erdogan Continues Communication with Tel Aviv Regarding Coordination of Israeli Military Attacks Inside Syrian Territory
Channel 12 in Israel has spoken about this communication between Ankara and Tel Aviv, stating that Erdogan “requested that the Israeli army and security forces coordinate their military activities in Syria with Turkey, similar to the Russian-Israeli coordination.” However, the Israeli side did not respond to this request.
It is known that military points and sites belonging to the Syrian army were bombed following the fall of Assad’s regime this month, and since the beginning of the Syrian war, Israel has executed numerous airstrikes, mostly targeting Iranian elements and points associated with the regime’s army at the time.
The Turkish President mentioned in statements made last Monday that “Israel will be forced to
withdraw from the occupied Golan Heights after expanding its presence in the area following the
fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime.”
The Turkish President added: “Sooner or later, Israel will withdraw from the territories it has
occupied in Syria, taking advantage of the current situation.”
In relation to the situation in Syria and the new authority that replaced the previous regime,
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar described the current Syrian regime, especially the armed
groups supported by Turkey in Idlib, as a “gang formation,” saying: “The Syrian regime is in fact a
gang formation, not a legitimate government, and the control of Islamic groups with extremist
ideologies over other areas might control Damascus, and another may manage Idlib, but this does
not constitute stability.”
