The Union of Grain and Wheat Exporters in Russia revealed on Thursday the list of the 5 most popular buyers and demand countries for Russian grains around the world during the months of July and August.
The list witnessed the presence of 3 Arab countries among the five countries most in demand for Russian grains in this period, where Saudi Arabia topped the list with an increase of 87% compared to the same period of the previous season, bringing the amount of what it imported to about 1.323 million tons of grain, almost 1.9 times more than what it was, in the same period last year, (704 thousand tons).
The Arab Republic of Egypt came in second place, with purchases increasing by 12.1% to 1.284 million tons compared to 1.145 million tons a year ago.

While Turkey ranked third after reducing its imports by 6.7% to 1.283 million tons after buying about 1.376 million tons respectively, and Iran came fourth, which bought 1.127 million tons, which is 22.6% lower than last year (1.456 million tons).
In the first half of the 2022-2023 agricultural year, Russia exported a total of 22.7 million tons of wheat, and the total export volume for the entire season could reach 44.3 million tons.
