Israel is trying to draw the Fatah party into the ongoing Gaza war in light of attacks on remarks by President Mahmoud Abbas and his Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the attack at the music festival on October 7, a Palestinian official said.
“That’s Netanyahu’s comfort zone,” Ahmad Majdalani, a Palestinian Authority (PA) member, said. “They’ll say they’re all terrorists and not deserving of a state … they want this to be the last war.”
On Sunday, Netanyahu accused the PA and Abbas of denying that Hamas fighters killed Israelis at a concert near the Gaza fence.
The statements follow a report by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz on Saturday which said there was a “growing assessment in Israel’s security establishment” based on the police investigation and interrogations of captured Hamas members that the group had not planned to target the event
