Dai Bing, charge d’affaires of China’s permanent mission to the UN, renewed his country’s support for the Syrian government in taking the necessary measures to combat terrorism, maintain security and stability, and eliminate long-term threats to the political process in Syria, stressing that the international community must combat all forms of terrorism in Syria without any tolerance.
Xinhua News Agency quoted Dai Ping as saying in a testimony before the Security Council regarding Syria, “Over the past four months, Israel has continued to launch air strikes on various sites in Syria, which China is deeply concerned about.”
He added, “We urge the countries concerned to end their illegal actions immediately and the foreign forces to end their illegal military presence in Syria immediately.”
The Chinese envoy stressed that unilateral sanctions and the plundering of the resources of the Syrian people have long hindered economic recovery, social development, and improving the lives of the people in Syria, which has exacerbated the human suffering that the Syrians are experiencing.
He explained that his country welcomes the successful holding of the 21st round of high-level meetings on Syria under the Astana format
