Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh engaged in discussions today at his office in Ramallah with Hadi Amro, the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for Palestinian Affairs, focusing on concerted efforts to halt the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.
“The top priority is to achieve an immediate and urgent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, along with opening all crossings leading to the Strip to facilitate greater delivery of humanitarian and medical aid,” stated Prime Minister Shtayyeh.
He emphasized the need to restore electricity, water, and fuel services back to the embattled enclave after more than three months of hiatus as a result of the Israeli aggression.
Shtayyeh also underscored the necessity of halting all unlawful Israeli deductions from the Palestinian clearance funds, urging the release of withheld funds.
He highlighted the financial strain the Palestinian Authority is going through, placing it on the brink of collapse due to its inability to meet obligations. The prime minister emphasized how this situation acts as a tool to further divide the West Bank from Gaza.
