Ronen Bar, head of the Israeli internal security agency Shin Bet, is planning to resign after the war on Gaza, according to a report by the N12 Israeli news website.
It cited Yaakov Peri, former head of Shin Bet and ex-member of the Knesset, as saying Bar announced the news to his staff.
Peri said Bar told Shin Bet employees the spy agency failed to issue an early warning on October 7 attacks “that would allow us to thwart” it. He has, therefore, chosen to resign in acceptance of responsibility for the failure.
