On Tuesday, Hezbollah issued a stark warning, threatening to intensify missile strikes on Haifa and other northern Israeli cities. This comes in response to Israel’s continued airstrikes on Lebanon, which have persisted for over two weeks.
Hezbollah’s Statement on Expanded Targets
In a public statement, Hezbollah declared, “If the Israeli enemy continues its aggression on our resilient people across all regions of Lebanon, Haifa and beyond will become as vulnerable to our missiles as Kiryat Shmona, Metula, and other border settlements with Lebanon.” These regions have been under regular Hezbollah missile attacks for over a year.
The statement continued, “What the enemy and its settlers witnessed in Haifa and its surroundings on Tuesday will be only the beginning,” referencing the missile attacks earlier that day.
85 Rockets Launched from Lebanon
According to the Israeli military, approximately 85 rockets were launched from Lebanon on Tuesday, targeting areas in northern Israel, including Haifa. The majority of the rockets were intercepted by Israel’s defense systems.
Images and videos circulating on social media show significant damage to several buildings in the Haifa area due to the missile strikes. However, no casualties have been reported so far.
Israeli Medical Response
Israel’s emergency medical services reported transporting 12 individuals with injuries caused by the latest missile strikes in Haifa and the nearby Kiryot region.
Ongoing Conflict: 170 Rockets in One Day
The Israeli army confirmed that a total of 170 rockets were launched from Lebanon toward Israel on Tuesday alone, further escalating the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel.
