Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement Between Moscow and Tehran
Iranian Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, announced that Iranian President Masoud
Pezeshkian plans to visit the Russian capital, Moscow, on January 17.
According to the embassy’s Telegram channel, quoting Jalali, “During this visit, Pezeshkian and
Putin will sign an agreement on cooperation between the two countries.”
The Ambassador noted that the visit is scheduled for January 17.
It is anticipated that the Presidents of Russia and Iran will sign the Comprehensive Strategic
Partnership Agreement between Moscow and Tehran.
This agreement aims to be a pivotal stage in the development of relations between Russia and
Iran. According to officials from both countries, the agreement encompasses all areas of bilateral
cooperation and will open new avenues in various fields of Russian-Iranian interaction, including
defense, energy, transport, industry, agriculture, culture, science, and technology.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian
in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, on October 11, 2024, emphasized that relations with Iran are a
“priority” for Moscow. He stated that the two countries share “very similar views” regarding
international developments.
Putin further noted, “Relations with Iran are a priority for us and are developing very
successfully.” He added, “We actively cooperate on the international stage, and our views on
global events are very often closely aligned.”
