ASEAN-Plus defense ministers gather in Cambodia to discuss solutions to security challenges
The ninth ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting Plus (the ninth ADMM-Plus) was held in Siem Reap, Cambodia on Wednesday to discuss ways to strengthen security, stability and prosperity in the region and in the world. Under the theme “Solidarity for Harmonized Security,” the meeting brought together defense ministers from ASEAN and its dialogue partners including Australia, China, India, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, Russia and the United States. China Eastern Airlines (CEA) is expected to put the country’s first domestically-built passenger jet C919 into commercial operation next year. According to Wang Jian, board secretary of CEA, the first C919 is expected to be put into commercial operation as soon as in the first half of next year after meeting the requirements of the country’s aviation regulator, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
