Sweden withdraws UNRWA funding
Sweden ’s International Development Cooperation Agency will pause the humanitarian funds that would have been paid to the UNRWA. Johan Forssell, the minister for international development cooperation and foreign trade, is quoted in various Swedish media outlets as saying that the money will instead go to other humanitarian organisations which operate in the occupied Palestinian territories and Lebanon. Emirati ambassador Hassan Ahmed al-Shahi arrived in Syria on Monday evening to become the first ambassador of his country to Syria since 2011. A woman was killed and others were injured today in the ongoing Israeli targeting of the vicinity of Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, according to the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS).
