The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs today condemned Papua New Guinea’s opening of an embassy in Jerusalem, describing it as a violation of international law.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Sinan al-Majali said in a statement that opening the embassy in Jerusalem is unacceptable and condemned, and a blatant and grave violation of international law and United Nations resolutions.
He stressed that any measures or decisions aimed at changing the status of Jerusalem or its legal status are invalid, illegitimate, and without legal effect, indicating that the only way to achieve a just and comprehensive peace is through the two-state solution based on international legitimacy resolutions to reach a just and lasting solution that leads to the establishment of the independent and sovereign Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
