General Yisrael Ziv expressed his concerns about Israel’s ongoing conflict in Gaza, emphasizing the heavy toll it takes on soldiers. He believes the country is caught in a drawn-out battle that has no clear resolution.
In a Channel 12 article, Ziv criticized Israel’s military strategy. He argued that fighting without removing Hamas from power only leads to more casualties without achieving significant results. According to Ziv, “Fighting in Gaza without changing Hamas’ regime brings no real outcomes,” pointing out that Israel is locked in a never-ending cycle.
Ziv also criticized Prime Minister Netanyahu’s decision to hold the Philadelphia Corridor, calling it pointless and counterproductive. He feels that the move merely prolongs the conflict without advancing Israel’s objectives.
He further warned that Israeli ministers like Itamar Ben Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich are racing to escalate the situation into a full-scale war, which could destabilize the Palestinian Authority. Ziv also highlighted that Israel faces a war of attrition with Hezbollah in Lebanon, draining the nation’s resources and soldiers. He called for a strategic shift to end the prolonged conflicts.
Ziv also targeted Prime Minister Netanyahu’s plan to maintain control of the Philadelphia Corridor near Rafah, calling it pointless. He believes it prolongs the conflict without helping Israel achieve its goals.

Ziv also highlighted Israel’s ongoing conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon, stating that the nation is engaged in a war of attrition on multiple fronts. He emphasized the need for a strategic shift to resolve these issues.
