The UAE field hospital in Rafah recently welcomed a delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO) to review medical efforts, establish coordination mechanisms, and exchange expertise. The visit also showcased the medical equipment and support provided by the UAE to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza.
According to the Emirates News Agency, the UAE, through the “Gallant Knight 3” operation, delivered 12 tons of medical aid, drugs, and essential supplies to WHO. These resources aim to support hospitals and healthcare facilities in Gaza, which continues to face challenging conditions.
During the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts, especially in evacuating the wounded. The UAE hospital continues to admit patients regularly, offering vital support to Gaza’s healthcare system.
The UAE and WHO agreed to collaborate closely to ensure a continuous flow of medical supplies and address the healthcare shortages in the region. They also discussed further medical assistance plans, including providing essential services, coordinating support for cancer patients—especially children—and ensuring their treatment abroad. Additionally, they focused on supplying crucial medicines and medical equipment.
This visit is part of the UAE field hospital’s extraordinary humanitarian efforts and its commitment to strengthening medical cooperation with WHO. Since its establishment, the hospital has played a key role in delivering healthcare services in Gaza.
The WHO delegation praised the UAE’s humanitarian leadership and ongoing medical assistance, particularly in offering healthcare to the wounded in the challenging environment of Gaza.
