Israeli airstrikes targeted the southern suburb of Beirut, known as Dahieh, on Saturday, following new evacuation warnings issued by the Israeli military to residents in the area. At the same time, Hezbollah launched rocket attacks on Israeli positions, and a drone struck the residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Caesarea.
Media reported hearing consecutive explosions in the Haret Hreik district of southern Beirut after Israeli aircraft and drones launched several strikes on the area. Footage showed smoke rising over the suburb, marking the first attacks on the region in three days.
The Lebanese National News Agency confirmed that an Israeli airstrike targeted a building in Haret Hreik twice, resulting in its complete destruction and damaging surrounding structures. The agency also reported that Israeli warplanes bombed the Amir’s neighborhood in Choueifat.
Prior to the strikes, the Israeli military issued warnings to residents of two buildings in Haret Hreik and others in the neighborhoods of Burj Al-Barajneh and Choueifat, urging them to evacuate. The air raids also extended to multiple towns in southern Lebanon, including Ayta ash-Shab, Kfarchouba, al-Dhahira, al-Adaysseh, Shuhabiya, Sadiqeen, Qabrikha, and Rashknaniyeh.
Israeli attacks also targeted towns like Bafliyeh, Dibaal, Tayr Harfa, Baalul, and Hanin in southern Lebanon, as well as al-Masharfa on the Lebanese-Syrian border in the eastern Bekaa region.
Since September 23, Israel has intensified its air raids, targeting what it claims are Hezbollah strongholds in southern Beirut, southern Lebanon, and eastern regions. By the end of the same month, Israel announced the beginning of ground incursions across the border.
In response, Hezbollah has been launching daily rocket barrages and drone attacks on Israeli positions, causing casualties among Israeli soldiers involved in cross-border operations.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Saturday evening that the death toll from Israeli attacks has reached 2,448, with 11,471 people injured since the escalation began.
