Martyrs and Wounded from the Lebanese Army in Israeli Airstrike on Southern Outpost
In a recent escalation of tensions, the Lebanese Army has suffered casualties in an Israeli airstrike targeting a military center in Al Mari, located in southern Lebanon. A military source has confirmed to RT that at least two soldiers were killed and a third was critically injured in the attack.
The Lebanese Army issued a statement verifying the fatalities, attributing them to a direct strike on their facility in the town of Al Mari. Reports from the field indicate that Israeli aircraft specifically targeted a military outpost on a hill in the Hasbaya district.
Parallel to this incident, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reported that one of its positions in Maroun al-Ras was fired upon, though no injuries were recorded among the peacekeepers.
Further intensifying the situation, an Israeli drone attacked a civil defense center in Hanawiyeh,
leading to the death of a medic and injuries to two others. Israeli military operations have seen an
uptick across Lebanon, with a particular focus on the southern suburbs of Beirut where the Israeli
Air Force has conducted multiple bombing raids. One notable strike in the Ras al-Nabaa area resulted in the assassination of Mohammad Afif, a media official for Hezbollah.
Amid these airstrikes, the border areas have become flashpoints for direct military engagements
between Israeli forces and Hezbollah fighters, with heavy fighting reported in Shaqra, Bint Jbeil,
and Ainata, where zero-distance combat is taking place.
