New Orleans Attack Perpetrator: Details on His Previous Employment
The FBI has disclosed new details regarding Shams al-Din Jabbar, the suspected perpetrator of
the tragic ramming incident in New Orleans, USA, which resulted in the death of 15 people and
injured dozens more.
Special Agent Alithia Duncan of the FBI stated in a press conference, “What I can say is that this
individual was a member of the military.”
Special Agent Duncan further noted, “He was honorably discharged from the military, but we are
working to gather all the information regarding this matter.”
Investigators in New Orleans found two hand grenades in the aftermath of the bloody truck attack
on New Year’s Eve celebrants in the French Quarter, according to the FBI.
Duncan added, “So far, two hand grenades have been found and disarmed.”
The FBI also confirmed that an ISIS flag was discovered in the vehicle used by Jabbar, reaffirming
that he was an American citizen named Shams al-Din Jabbar.
According to the FBI, the suspect was killed during a confrontation with the police.
