Israeli Army Announces the Death of 3 Soldiers in Beit Hanoun, Northern Gaza Strip
The Israeli army has announced the death of 3 soldiers and the serious injury of another in Beit Hanoun, in the northern Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army stated in a release: “Sergeant First Class Matityahu Yaakov Pearl, aged 22, and Sergeant First Class Knao Kasa, also aged 22, both fighters in Battalion 46 of Brigade 401, were killed in a battle in the northern Gaza Strip.”
It added that they were killed due to the explosion of an explosive device in a pit where a tank had
advanced in Beit Hanoun.
The Israeli army spokesperson noted that another soldier was killed in the same incident, whose name has not yet been disclosed, and another soldier was seriously injured.
The Israeli newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” reported that the three soldiers were killed because of
explosive devices placed on a tank in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza.
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation announced that the 401st Armored Brigade will exit Gaza
after being there for a year and three months, to be replaced by the 188th Brigade and Battalion
51 of the Golani Brigade.
The Chief of Staff entered Jabalia to boost the morale of the Israeli soldiers following the incident
where the three soldiers were killed in Beit Hanoun.
Israeli Army Radio reported that 46 soldiers have been killed since the start of the army operation
in the northern Gaza Strip more than three months ago.
