On Saturday about ten thousand people flooded the streets of the Italian capital, Rome, once again, to stage a rally against what they call the “genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.”
The initiative dubbed “Italy Out of All Wars” was attended by political parties and trade unions, including Power to the People, the Communist Refoundation Party, and USB trade union.
High school students and their families, who called on the international community to put an end to Israel’s bloodbath in the besieged Gaza Strip, were also present at the rally.
The figures speak for themselves.
Over 10,000 civilians killed, more than 3000 children slaughtered, almost half of all housing units in the Gaza Strip have been destroyed, and yet nobody is calling for a ceasefire.
All this makes you think there is a deal in place between Israel, the US, and the EU; a deal made in the name of financial strategic interests.
Marco Benevento, USB Union
I think economic interests are preeminent over all other interests. That’s why the media are so biased when they cover this conflict.

Those at the rally demanded accountability of the US, UK, and much of Europe, for being “wholly complicit in the horrific assault on the Palestinian civilians by Israeli forces.”
They condemned the media and those who hold the posture of selective morality on the ongoing massacre in the Gaza Strip.
People at the rally were also calling on Italy and the European Union to declare an arms embargo on Israel.
With over €2 billion worth of military contracts guaranteed to Israel in the last 10 years, European countries are one of Tel Aviv’s main suppliers of military systems and equipment, training only in the US.
Today, more than ever, the arms business is prospering and thriving. It goes without saying that Israel is a strategic Western outpost in the Middle East and that Western forces want to preserve it.
We need to reverse course and invest more money into our social welfare, not in military procurement.
Marta Collot, Power to the People Party
Numerous rallies have been held in support of the besieged Palestinians in different cities and towns across Italy since October 7th.
Despite the media’s double standards on the Israeli carnage, a growing number of Italians are finally waking up to the reality of the horror that is taking place in the Gaza Strip,
