Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesperson for President Mahmoud Abbas, has commended the joint China-Arab statement issued today at the 10th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum in Beijing.
The statement called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, opposed forced displacement of Palestinians, endorsed Palestine’s bid for full UN membership, and advocated for an early resolution to the Palestinian issue based on a two-state solution in line with international resolutions. It also condemned the U.S. veto against Palestinian rights.
Abu Rudeineh emphasized that the positions outlined in the China-Arab statement are in full alignment with the official Palestinian stance, which calls for an immediate cessation of the Israeli aggression, a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, the delivery of aid throughout the Gaza Strip, an end to Israeli attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the implementation of international resolutions on these matters.
“China’s principled positions on the Palestinian cause, which align with the Arab stance, along with the successive recognitions of the State of Palestine, demonstrate an unprecedented international consensus on the necessity of ending the suffering of the Palestinian people by ending the occupation, applying international legitimacy resolutions, halting aggression, ending settlements, and establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital,” said Abu Rudeineh.
The spokesperson highlighted that the positions of friendly and brotherly countries serve as a clear call to nations supporting the occupation to change their stance, adopt international legitimacy and law, and work with the international community to stop the genocide against the Palestinian people.
He stressed the need for Israeli occupation authorities to adhere to international law and implement UN resolutions related to the Palestinian issue, as the correct path to achieving peace and stability in the region and the world.
The China-Arab statement, issued during the 10th Ministerial Meeting of the Arab-China Cooperation Forum in Beijing, condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.
It called on the UN Security Council to adopt a binding resolution for an immediate, comprehensive, and permanent ceasefire, halt the forced displacement of Palestinians, ensure the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and implement relevant council resolutions.
The statement also denounced the U.S. veto that prevents Palestine from obtaining full membership in the UN.
