Casualties from Israeli Attack on Palmyra, Syria
A military source from the Syrian Defense Ministry reported on Wednesday evening that 36
people were martyred and 50 others injured due to an Israeli airstrike targeting the city of Palmyra in the Syrian Desert.
The Syrian News Agency quoted the source saying, “Around 15:13 pm today, the Israeli enemy launched an aerial attack from the direction of the Al-Tanf area, targeting several buildings in the city of Palmyra in the Syrian Desert.”
The source added: “This resulted in the martyrdom of 36 individuals, over 50 others injured, and significant material damage to the targeted buildings and the surrounding area.”

Previously, the SANA agency reported that an Israeli attack targeted Palmyra in the Eastern Homs countryside, leading to several injuries, confirming that “The Israeli aggression targeted residential buildings and the industrial city.”
Meanwhile, the Russian news agency RIA Novosti, citing a source, reported that the explosions around Palmyra were due to shelling on the reserves headquarters of the Syrian army in Eastern Homs.
Israeli attacks on Syria have escalated since the onset of the war on Gaza in October 2023, with their intensity increasing since the Israeli escalation in Lebanon last September.
