Five United Nations agencies have sounded the alarm about the humanitarian situation in the besieged Gaza Strip, which has been under a relentless Israeli war for the past two weeks. The lives of at least 120 newborn babies in incubators in Gaza’s hospitals are at risk as fuel runs out in the besieged enclave, according to the UN children’s agency. “We have currently 120 neonates who are in incubators, out of which we have 70 neonates with mechanical ventilation, and of course this is where we are extremely concerned,” said UNICEF spokesperson Jonathan Crickx. A second convoy of aid trucks has crossed from Egypt into the Gaza Strip, according to multiple international and Egyptian media outlets. A total of 17 trucks entered Gaza on Sunday, a day after the first convoy comprising 20 trucks carried medical aid, food and water into the besieged enclave. The United States has submitted a draft for a UN Security Council resolution on Israel’s onslaught in Gaza without any mention of a ceasefire in it, a report says. According to a document obtained by Russia’s TASS news agency, the US-drafted resolution condemned the Hamas resistance group’s Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, urged the release of war prisoners, and supported Israel’s so-called right to defend itself.
