On March 8, Israel’s ImageSat International released new satellite images of al-Dabaa air base in Syria’s Homs which was hit by a series of Israeli airstrikes in the early morning. The images revealed that the air base, where Iranian military personnel and fighters from Lebanon’s Hezbollah are known to be deployed, had received multiple impacts. According to a recent report from investor and ESG analyst Daniel Batten, more than half of the energy used in Bitcoin mining comes from renewable energy sources. Hydropower alone reportedly accounts for more than 23% of the energy used in mining.
