The media office of Gaza’s government has announced the killing of journalist Abdel Kareem Oudeh as a result of an Israeli attack. A tally by the non-profit Committee to Protect Journalists puts the number of journalists killed between October 7 and December 11 at 63, the vast majority of them in Gaza. Four new Israeli warships have “sailed for the first time to the Red Sea”, the Israeli army has said in a post on social media. Large plumes of smoke can be seen rising over various parts of Khan Younis, in southern Gaza, where there has been fierce fighting between Israeli forces and Palestinian fighters. The United Nations says only 13 out of 36 hospitals in the Gaza Strip are partially functional as Israeli occupation forces are targeting medical centers and staff amid heavily bombardment of the besieged territory.
