“Palestinian unity at this critical juncture in the nation’s history is essential to realizing the dream of an independent Palestinian state,” said the official spokesperson of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid wrote on “X” on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Hamas announced it had signed an agreement brokered by the Chinese government in Beijing with other Palestinian organizations — including rivals Fatah — to work together for “national unity” under the name of “Beijing Declaration”.
