On Thursday, the Israeli military announced the deaths of three soldiers during ongoing clashes in Jabalia, located in northern Gaza.
The military identified the fallen soldiers as Staff Sergeant (Res.) Uri Moshe Bornstein, aged 32, Major (Res.) Netanel Hirschkovitch, aged 37, and Staff Sergeant (Res.) Tzvi Matityahu Marantz, aged 32.
According to the military, the soldiers were killed when an explosive device detonated near their military jeep, followed by mortar fire in the Jabalia area of northern Gaza.
The Israeli army continues its military operations in Gaza and earlier on Thursday, it reported carrying out a “precision strike” on what it described as “terrorists” in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza. The statement noted, “Under the direction of the military and Israeli intelligence, the Israeli Air Force executed a precision strike on terrorists operating within a command and control center in Deir al-Balah.”
Meanwhile, Palestinian medical officials confirmed a rising death toll following an Israeli attack on a school sheltering displaced civilians in Deir al-Balah.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that 28 people were killed and 54 others injured in an Israeli airstrike on Rafidah School, according to Reuters.
