At least 29 Palestinians were killed in Israeli army attacks on the Gaza Strip on Saturday, according to paramedics, as Israeli forces continued their incursion into the Jabalia area, where international aid agencies report thousands are trapped.
Residents stated that Israeli forces are continuing to bombard the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip, with air and ground strikes.
Paramedics confirmed that 19 people were killed earlier on Saturday, while 10 more lost their lives later in the evening after Israeli airstrikes hit two homes in Jabalia and Nuseirat in central Gaza. The death toll is expected to rise, with several critically injured individuals.
The Israeli army issued new evacuation orders on Saturday for residents of two neighborhoods on the northern outskirts of Gaza City, labeling them “dangerous combat zones.”
Meanwhile, a statement attributed to the Hamas-controlled Interior Ministry urged residents to avoid moving within northern areas of the Gaza Strip and refrain from heading south due to “continuous bombing and daily killings in areas claimed to be safe by the occupation.”
The Israeli army stated that it was conducting operations targeting Hamas fighters who are using civilian buildings. It added that evacuation orders have been issued over the past few days, including for areas around Kamal Adwan Hospital.
A convoy carrying fuel arrived at the hospital on Saturday, with the goal of evacuating patients to Gaza City, according to the army.
In recent days, the army claimed that forces conducting operations in Jabalia and nearby areas had killed dozens of militants, uncovered weapons, and dismantled military infrastructure, although it did not provide evidence.
The operation in this area began a week ago, with the army stating that its goal was to neutralize militants launching attacks and prevent Hamas from regrouping.
Palestinian health officials estimate that the death toll in Jabalia over the past week has reached around 150.
