Brussels Hosts International Conference on Syria Recovery and Aid in March 2025
In a significant move towards addressing the ongoing Syrian crisis, Brussels, the Belgian capital, is set to host an international conference in March 2025 aimed at rallying support for early recovery efforts and continued international aid for the Syrian refugee crisis. This conference will also extend support to neighboring countries hosting Syrian refugees, such as Jordan, as confirmed by European diplomatic sources.

The conference will not only discuss the refugee crisis but also delve into the reconstruction phase of Syria, distinguishing it from the Ninth Brussels Conference for Supporting Syria and its Region, scheduled later in the year. According to the sources, this annual event typically focuses on the Syrian response and engaging with civil society organizations in Syria.
Regarding the participation of the new Syrian administration in the upcoming March conference, sources indicate that high-level representation from Syria is crucial for significant progress. They also noted that the EU has dispatched Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness, and Crisis Management, Hadja Habib, to Damascus to meet with the new administration.
