Al Jazeera’s Mazen Ibrahim, the Lebanon burea chief, has said he can clearly say that journalists had been targeted while reporting in southern Lebanon.
“I can clearly say that we journalists were targeted on purpose,” Ibrahim said from Alma al Shaab in southern Lebanon, where Reuters journalist Issam Abdalla was killed in shelling and several others – including two Al Jazeera journalists – were wounded.
“We were far from the confrontations…All of the journalists were wearing their safety kit. They all had press slogans on their chest and cars,” he said.
