The main body of the UN has returned following from a brief break. They are expected to soon vote, putting member states on the record on where they stand on the conflict.
Here are the two items they will vote on:
- The first is a resolution put forward by the Arab group of countries calling for an “immediate, durable and sustained humanitarian truce”.
- The second is an amendment put forward by Canada, and supported by the US, that includes explicit condemnation of Hamas and condemns “the taking of hostages”.
