In a tripartite summit of Leaders held today in the city of Aqaba, Jordan, King Abdullah II of Jordan, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt, and President Mahmoud Abbas of Palestine affirmed their categorical rejection of any Israeli plans for displacement of the Palestinian people in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
During the summit, the leaders emphasized the necessity of international condemnation and united action to counter such plans. They also staunchly rejected all attempts to liquidate the Palestinian issue or separate Gaza from the West Bank, emphasizing that both regions are integral parts of a unified Palestinian state.
The leaders, who convened to address the precarious situation in Gaza, warned against any attempts by Israel to reoccupy parts of Gaza or establish so-called safe zones in the territory, stressing the imperative need to allow the residents of Gaza to return to their homes.
The leaders reiterated their commitment to continuing efforts to halt Israeli aggression in Gaza, protect innocent civilians, and ensure the consistent and sufficient delivery of humanitarian aid to the region.
They expressed concern over hostile actions by extremist Israeli settlers in the West Bank against the Palestinian people and assaults on the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. The leaders warned that such actions could escalate the situation in the West Bank, leading to regional instability.
In a joint agreement, the leaders pledged to collaborate closely, coordinating efforts among Arab nations and with influential international actors to pursue a political resolution for the Palestinian issue.
They emphasized the importance of achieving a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy, ensuring the full legitimate rights of the Palestinian people in their independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
King Abdullah II of Jordan reaffirmed his support for the State of Palestine and cautioned against any measures aimed at weakening it. He warned against potential escalations that could widen the circle of war and complicate efforts to reach a ceasefire, highlighting the critical nature of the situation, requiring extraordinary efforts to chart the course for the next phase.
Prior to the trilateral summit, King Abdullah II held separate meetings with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and President Mahmoud Abbas, focusing on concerted efforts for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
