Ayman Safadi, the kingdom’s foreign minister and deputy prime minister, has said that the potential participation of 12 UNRWA staff in the October 7 attacks does not justify measures to starve an entire nation.
“UNRWA is the lifeline for over 2 million Palestinians facing starvation in Gaza,” he said in a post on X.
“It should’t be collectively punished upon allegations against 12 persons out of its 13,000 staff. UNRWA acted responsibly and began an investigation. We urge countries that suspended funds to reverse decision.”
