MOSCOW, February 29. /TASS/. The Russian government will prepare federal projects for the development of the agro-industrial complex as part of a new national project on ensuring technological sovereignty, Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko told reporters.

“This year the government will prepare federal projects for the development of the agro-industrial complex as part of a new national project to ensure technological sovereignty. As the President said, we should be independent, have all the technological keys in such sensitive areas as food security,” she said.
“Therefore, on behalf of the head of state, we will continue to work to speed up the growth rate of food production and exports,” the deputy prime minister added.
According to her, Russia is already one of the top twenty global food suppliers.
“The new task is to increase agricultural exports by one and a half times by 2030 from the level of 2021. Let me remind you that then over 71 million tons of products were sold for more than $37.7 billion,” Abramchenko said.
She also recalled that the basis of domestic agricultural exports are grain crops, fat and oil products, fish and seafood, as well as meat products. Meanwhile, Russia confidently holds first place in the world in wheat exports.
“Therefore, as the president noted, we will continue to provide support to the agro-industrial complex for the sustainable development of the industry, increase labor productivity, and also put new agricultural land into circulation. By 2030, this will be about 13 million hectares of unused land. We will work to increase land fertility. This will become serious will help to significantly increase the volume of agricultural production,” the Deputy Prime Minister added.
Earlier on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his State of the Nation Address to the Federal Assembly, said that the Russian agro-industrial complex should grow by a quarter by 2030, and exports should increase by 1.5 times. The President also said that taking into account current tasks and challenges, the Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development of Russia was adjusted, and also announced the launch of new national projects of technological sovereignty.
