This comes a day after US President Joe Biden wrote an opinion piece in The Washington Post proposing that the PA take control over Gaza in the war’s aftermath. Yemen’s Houthi military spokesman confirmed its forces seized what it said is an “Israeli” ship in the Red Sea and took it to shore along with its crew. “We are treating the crew in accordance with Islamic norms and principles,” Yahya Saree said. Since 7 October, 198 Palestinians, including 52 children, have been killed by Israeli forces; and an additional eight, including one child, have been killed by Israeli settlers in the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem, UNOCHA says.
