Israel’s military has issued another statement defending its attack on Gaza City’s al-Tabin school, claiming without evidence it served as an “active compound” of Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. In the latest statement, the military said it had intelligence indicating there were 20 Hamas and Islamic Jihad fighters, including senior commanders, operating from the school. In a devastating early morning attack, over 100 civilians have been killed and dozens more injured following an Israeli airstrike on the al-Tabin School in the Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City.  The school, which was housing displaced families, was hit by Israeli warplanes while residents were performing the dawn prayers.
